How to Take Herbal Powder

Some herbal prescriptions are provided in the form of concentrated herbal powders. These are prepared following consultation and prescribed for individual use.

Dosage & Frequency

  • Herbal powders are usually taken twice daily.
  • Each dose is pre-measured and sealed individually for accuracy and convenience.
  • Please take one dose each time, as advised.

Timing of Intake

Herbal powders are generally recommended after meals, depending on individual digestion.

  • Take the powder 30 to 60 minutes after eating, according to comfort and tolerance.
  • It is not recommended to take herbal powders on an empty stomach, unless specifically advised.

Preparation Instructions

  1. Empty one sealed dose of herbal powder into a standard-sized mug.
  2. Add approximately 150 ml (half a mug) of boiling water.
    • Please take care when handling hot water to avoid burns.
  3. Using a teaspoon or chopsticks, stir continuously for at least 10 seconds until the powder is fully dispersed and no visible particles remain.
  4. Allow the herbal tea to stand until it cools to a comfortable drinking temperature.
  5. Stir once more before drinking, then consume the herbal tea while warm.

Temperature Guidance

  • The herbal tea should be taken warm, not cold.
  • If the tea cools down before drinking, gently reheat it using a water bath or other gentle warming method.
  • Do not use a microwave to reheat herbal medicine.
  • Avoid drinking the tea when it is too hot for safety issues.
